Description
Team B created a limited RTS, real time strategy game, wherein you, as the player, have the ability to spawn pre-made ships each of whom have their own AI in order to defeat the enemy AI which is doing the same thing as you.
When the game begins you are given 450 metal resources and 100 fuel resources, though 150 of that metal is immediately spent on a metal transport ship, called a freighter. You can move the camera around using the ‘w’’a’’s’’d’ keys, mouse edge panning, or the arrow keys, holding shift to increase the speed at which the camera moves, and using the mouse wheel to zoom in or out.
Using the right click on the mouse will bring up the in-game menu allowing you to pull up the ship-purchasing menu, the pause menu, or zoom all the way out to see the entire map. The pause menu gives you the option to change a myriad of volume controls as well as mouse and keyboard sensitivity and quit to the main menu.
The ship-purchasing menu allows you to spawn one of five ships each with their own AI and different allocated stats; each ship has their own prices, a combination of fuel and metal, based on the number of stat points allocated. The basic starfighter is the cheapest “attack ship”, while the spartan starfighter is significantly better, still paling in comparison to the bomber, the best “attack ship” though very slow. There are two transport ships: the freighter, which collects metal resources from controlled planets, and the fuel freighter, which collects fuel resources from controlled planets.
Once spawned each ship automatically chooses its destination based on its type and the current game state. Attack ships will seek out the next planet to be captured, engaging any enemy ships along the way, and capturing planets once close enough. Transport ships will seek out controlled planets and extract the relevant resource from them, returning to the home base afterwards to deposit said resource.
The game ends when either you capture the AI’s home planet, or the AI captures your home planet.
